Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Markepi handles your information.
The Short Version
Markepi does not collect your data. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Your photos, videos, watermarks, templates and signing key are processed and stored on your device. Nothing is sent to orbitaar, and orbitaar runs no server for Markepi that could receive it.
Photos and Videos
You choose photos and videos with Apple's system photo picker or Files, or by sharing them to Markepi from another app. Every watermark, frame, signature and export is made on your iPhone or iPad with Apple's own imaging frameworks. Your media is never uploaded.
Markepi exports to a temporary file and hands it to Apple's share sheet, so it goes only where you choose to send it. Markepi writes to your photo library only when you tap Save.
Photos Access
Markepi works without access to your photo library. It may ask in three cases, and declining any of them is fine:
- Saving. When you tap Save, Markepi asks for permission to add the export to your library.
- Place names in frame captions. The photo picker removes the location from the copy it gives apps. If your caption shows the place, Markepi asks to read the photo's location from your library. Without it, the caption simply leaves the place out.
- Watermark Last Photo. This Home Screen quick action asks for access so it can open your most recent photo.
Location
Markepi does not use your device's location. When a frame caption shows where a photo was taken, the country is worked out from the photo's own GPS data, on your device, with no network request.
What Travels With Your Files
Exports keep the metadata your photo or video already has, such as GPS, date and device. Before you export, you can choose Keep all, Remove GPS & device, or Minimal. Any rights details (creator, copyright, credit) or Content Credentials you add are embedded in the exported file and are visible to anyone you share it with, by your choice.
Content Credentials (C2PA)
Content Credentials are off until you choose to sign. Signing happens entirely on your device, with no network call: no image, key or manifest is uploaded. Markepi creates the signing key on your device and keeps it in the Secure Enclave where the hardware has one, where it cannot be exported. Otherwise the key is stored locally on the device. Either way it never leaves the device.
Purchases
Markepi Pro is sold through the Apple App Store and handled by Apple through your Apple Account. orbitaar receives no payment details. Your Pro status is checked on your device with Apple's StoreKit. The app may show Apple's standard prompt to rate it, which Apple handles.
Third-Party Services
Markepi includes no third-party analytics or advertising services. If you follow a link out of the app, such as to the App Store, that service's own privacy policy applies.
Deleting Your Data
Your templates, logos, signatures and settings live on your device. Deleting Markepi removes them, along with its signing key. Files you saved to Photos or Files, or shared, stay where you put them.
Children's Privacy
Markepi is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children, or from anyone else.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
