Terms of Use
Welcome to Markepi. By using our mobile application ("App"), you agree to these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Use of the App
Markepi is an on-device app for adding watermarks, frames and Content Credentials (C2PA) to your photos, videos and Live Photos, and sharing them. You are responsible for how you use the App and for the content you process with it, including complying with all applicable laws.
2. Prohibited Content
We have a zero-tolerance policy for illegal content. You may not use Markepi to process, watermark, sign or share:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content depicting the sexual exploitation of minors.
- Non-consensual intimate imagery or other unlawful sexual content.
- Content promoting illegal acts, violence, terrorism or hate speech.
Violations may be reported to law enforcement. Because Markepi runs entirely on your device, you alone are responsible for the content you process with it.
3. On-Device Processing
Markepi has no server. All watermarking, framing, signing and exporting happens on your device. orbitaar does not receive, view, store or have access to your photos, videos, keys or any content you process. You are responsible for keeping backups of your own content.
4. Content Credentials and Honest Use
Markepi lets you attach Content Credentials (C2PA) and rights metadata to your photo exports. You agree to use them honestly and not to misrepresent the origin, authorship or nature of any content, for example by declaring AI-generated content to be a genuine camera capture.
Markepi's signing identity is created on your device. It shows that the Markepi app on your device signed a file; it does not verify your legal or personal identity, and you agree not to present it as such. Content Credentials are currently available for photos only.
5. Your Content and Rights
You keep all rights to the photos, videos, logos, signatures and other content you process with Markepi. You confirm that you own, or have permission to use, any logos, images or trademarks you add as watermarks, and that adding your watermark or rights metadata does not infringe anyone else's rights.
6. Free and Pro
Markepi is free to use with unlimited exports. Free exports are sized for sharing (up to 2048 px for photos and 1080p for videos), in standard dynamic range, and carry a small Markepi mark. Markepi Pro exports at full resolution, keeps HDR and removes the Markepi mark. Content Credentials are included in both.
- Processed by Apple. All purchases are made through the Apple App Store under Apple's terms. orbitaar does not process or store your payment information.
- Subscriptions. The monthly and yearly plans renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel them in your Apple Account settings.
- Lifetime. A one-time, non-consumable purchase that unlocks Markepi Pro for good. From time to time it may be offered at a reduced price for a limited period.
- Refunds. Purchases are subject to Apple's refund policies. orbitaar does not process refunds itself.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract the source code or signing mechanisms of the App, except where the law allows it, and not to use the App to violate the intellectual property or privacy rights of others.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that Content Credentials will be kept, recognised or displayed by any particular platform or tool. Some services re-encode files on upload, which can remove them.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, orbitaar is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including loss of data or content, arising from your use of the App.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may change these Terms at any time. We will give notice of material changes in the App or on this website. Continuing to use the App means you accept the changed Terms.
11. Apple Standard EULA
In addition to these Terms, your use of the App is governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
