How to use Markepi.

Every clip on this page was recorded in the app. Bring a photo in, put your mark on it, and share it, without a copy landing in your camera roll.

Bring in a photo or video.

  1. Open Markepi and pick from your library or Files with the buttons at the top of the screen.
  2. Or start in another app: in Photos, tap the share button and choose Markepi. Safari and other apps work too.
  3. Load up to 20 photos and videos at once. One setup applies to all of them, and you can adjust any one on its own.

Markepi works on a copy. Your originals aren't touched.

Add your mark.

The bottom bar has Text, Logo and Sign. Use one, or all three.

STEP 1

Type your name

Tap Text, type your name or studio, then choose the font, colour and opacity.

STEP 2

Add a logo

Tap Logo and pick a transparent PNG. Choose a position from the menu, or drag it on the photo.

To sign by hand, tap Sign and draw with your finger, in the ink colour and thickness you pick. Drag any mark on the photo to place it. Layers sets which one sits in front. Like a setup? Save it as a template and load it next time.

Choose a frame.

  1. Tap Frame and swipe the style strip: Float, Noir, Aura, Readout, Sunlight and more.
  2. The caption fills in from the photo itself: camera, lens, aperture, shutter, ISO, date and place.
  3. Several styles take their colours from the picture. Your camera's mark appears automatically, and you can turn it off.
  4. Set the border and caption in millimetres, for one style or Apply to all styles.

Want the old film look? Turn on Retro Date Stamp under More.

Watermark a video.

  1. Bring in a video or Live Photo the same way as a photo.
  2. Add text, a logo or a frame. They're the same size on photos and video.
  3. Drag the slider under the video to preview any moment and check your mark there.
  4. Share it. Every audio track is kept.

Content Credentials are for photos only for now.

Sign it with Content Credentials.

  1. Open More and turn on Content Credentials & rights. Add your name, copyright and credit.
  2. Tap the share button. The Content Credentials (C2PA) sheet shows what gets sealed.
  3. Tap Sign now. You'll see Protected & Ready, with the creator, copyright and an intact signature.
  4. Tap Continue to Share.

The key is created on your iPhone. No account, upload or certificate needed. Verifiers show a self-declared signer, not a verified legal identity. Check a file at contentcredentials.org/verify.

Share it.

  1. Tap the share button at the top right.
  2. Check the summary: what metadata goes along, and whether the photo is signed. Then tap Continue to Share.
  3. Pick any app: Messages, Mail, AirDrop, Files or your social apps.

Nothing lands in your camera roll unless you choose Save to Photos. To leave out location or device, choose Remove GPS & device under More before you share.

When something's off.

I don't see Markepi in the share sheet.

Scroll the row of apps to the end, tap More, and turn Markepi on. You can drag it to the front of the list there too.

My white logo disappears on the frame.

A white logo on a white border is invisible. Pick a dark frame such as Noir, or a logo with a dark version.

The camera caption is wrong or missing.

Markepi reads the caption from the photo's own data. Screenshots and photos saved from other apps often have none. Turn the camera mark off if you don't want it.

The credentials are gone after I posted the photo.

Some services re-encode images on upload, which can strip Content Credentials. They stay attached when the file is sent byte for byte, like AirDrop or Files.

Where did my photo go?

Markepi hands the finished file to the app you chose and doesn't keep a copy. To keep one, choose Save to Photos in the share sheet.
